What does Waterville Valley Resort love most about their community?

The best thing about the Waterville Community is that we have each other’s backs. We support each other, we genuinely care about the success and well-being of our community and its members. People in Waterville will drop everything just to help, nothing too big or too small. As parents, we can let our kids be independent, they can bike or skate around town with their friends. And that’s because we trust our neighbors. We know that, as a community, we’re always looking out for each other. And when someone needs help, we don’t hesitate. It’s an incredible community that I’m lucky to call home.

Waterville Valley Resort staff’s favorite thing about New Hampshire?

Without a doubt, my favorite thing about New Hampshire is the people. Most people here are incredibly kind, passionate folk who deeply care about their communities. They want to help, be involved, and make a difference. Last fall, the ski resort was building a new 6-pack chair lift. Dozens of locals came out to help our on-mountain team splice the haul rope. Those locals spent an entire day doing labor-intensive work simply because they’re passionate about the sport and genuinely care about the success of the Waterville community. That’s special, you won’t find people like that in every state.
Ski Fanatics is the ski shop of the white mountains where skiing isn’t just something you do, it’s who you are. Located just off exit 28 on 93 in Campton, NH, the small, family owned business keeps the community supplied with everything you could need for year-round fun. Whether you ski, snowboard, snowshoe, hike, kayak, canoe, stand up paddle board, or camp, stop by Ski Fanatics this season for expert advice, professional gear fitting, or rentals to keep you playing outside. This summer, don’t forget about Ski Fanatic’s tubing shuttles on the Pemi!

What does Ski Fanatics love most about their community?

We love how the spirit of the outdoors weaves its way through and ties the community together.

What is owner of Ski Fanatics John Gallagher’s favorite thing about New Hampshire?

I love that in New Hampshire we get to experience all the seasons.

Step inside Mad River Coffee, an unpretentious coffee house, serving high quality food and drinks at a fair price, located at Exit 28 off of Highway 93 in Campton, NH. You’ll find a warm and inviting atmosphere where community is shared over a cup of fresh roasted coffee and homemade pastries.  Locally known as “the meeting spot”, Mad River Coffee is where your adventure starts.

What does Mad River Coffee love most about their community?

We love seeing contractors connect before they head off to work.  Business meetings at lunch.  Friends meeting up to plan a trip, chat about the kids, or the weekly knitting group.   It’s a community center for the Rte 49 area and business.  People feel at home here and care about each other and our staff.

What is Mad River Coffee’s favorite thing about New Hampshire?

Anywhere in town, you can walk right out your door and enjoy the National Forest.  There is so much recreation at hand.  We hike and cross country ski out our back door.  We can walk to the river in the summer.

Celebrate the human experience through artistic expression and entertainment at the North Country Center for the Arts at Jean’s Playhouse in Lincoln, NH. I love talking with others and learning their stories, discovering perspective, and sharing the impact they have had on the world around them. This podcast is an opportunity to showcase the wisdom, perseverance, and spirit of New Hampshire.

Dan Egan’s favorite thing about New Hampshire?

I moved to New Hampshire in 1993 and I instantly fell in love with sailing and swimming on the lakes. For me it is the perfect escape and of course I jump in every river I can in the White Mountains to cool off on a hot summer day. I live for the skiing here as well; from Wildcat, Cannon, Bretton Woods, to Loon and Waterville Valley. To ski here, you have to put your chin to the wind, enjoy all conditions, and appreciate the rugged beauty of the state.
